vundo. :]

Recommended Posts

hmm, lovely vundos. excuse the spelling errors and the non punctuations, been working on my computer for about 3 days and its currently 2:30am. should of looked for help soon, but as being an a+ certified it techy i thought i could do it alone. guess not.

anyways my computer has been acting up for months, problem one. i just ignored it. popups and things. to be honest i spend so much time on it i knew something was wrong from the hdd was kicking around and the mouse was dragging when i hovered over bookmarks in firefox.

ive done everything, from norton gaming edition, zone labs, xoft, super antispyware pro, avg, kasper sky, system mech 6 & 8.

even went through some browers, firefox, chrome, mathon, blahh.

now im to the point to where im literally sifting through processes an removing them one at a time, which isnt working. looking at the startup of msconfig and came across petatusa.dll, which is either a loader for the whole rouge aintivirus 2009 or something to do with the vundos, forgot.

unchecked several times. got to the point to where i pulled out the hdd and threw another in and upgraded to windows 7, would of been fun if it was compat with my sound card and network.

but before i start throwing rocks in the dark and buying hardware for a beta windows as a last resort, thought id come here.

now installing the malwarebytes anti-malware and going to see what it does, or well what it doesnt do. lol might have to snag the hijackthis as well.

buttt at this point im to the verge to where i cant do it anymore. i need help :[

also came across this: "Update for you guys, the popups are largely realated to some Antivirus 2009 or Antispyware 2009 rubbish. Also the processes section in my task manager has started to flicker and change rapidly, something it never used to do, and firefox seems to be running a tad slower."

my task manager is like.. drunk. flickering, and the mem usage.. its like im running call of duty 4 .. for times. i have a gig of ram with 200 mb free on system idle.. if im that lucky. my rainmeter is actually quite fun to watch, the ram numbers are changing so fast its just a blurrrr.

okok imma shut up, rambling. ill update asap. :]

ran a full scan again after restart on the anti-malware, found 4 in the system information restore files.

removed them.

as for everything else.. no more blinky task manager, processes seems to be idling properly, couple bouncing around from 00-01. explorer.exe, services.exe. ram still looks a lil jittery.

heres the hijack log.
