IP blocking, ignore list, do not show balloon tips - bug

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have just found this bug - if you have the option unchecked to "show tooltip balloon when malicious website is blocked" (or to not show ballon tips when website is blocked) and MBAM blocks website - it does not show up on the right-click option in the ignore list - ignore list stays greyed out. If you check the option to show balloon tips and MBAM block the same website/ip - it does appear in the ignore list.

I have a suggestion, on the ignore list tab of MBAM to have a button to add IP directly - for example click a button "Add IP" and box appear with . . . . - to enter IP directly. As not we should choose a file which is not very user frendly if you need to add 1 IP.

And I want to ask what is formatting in the file we must choose for IP ignore from blocking. I mean how to format the file with the IPs I want to ignore. I have tried to enter the IP on the first line, but it does not work like this, it is not ignored from blocking.

Greetings :)

Unfortunately there is no way to add an IP address to the Ignore List manually in the consumer version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, however we do plan to add this feature sometime in the future, though I do not know when that will be.

If you are running either the Business or Enterprise Edition of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware then there are methods to manually add IP addresses to the Ignore List, via CLI for the Business edition and via the Malwarebytes Enterprise Edition's console or via CLI for the Enterprise Edition (neither version has the functionality built into the user interface of the client software itself, for the same reason that the consumer version does not have this feature yet).
