License Key question (Laptop Died)

Recommended Posts

Hi Guyz,

first of all, a Happy New Year to you all.

my Laptop died on me and I had a MBAM Pro installed (License bought in August 2012).

Now I am going to buy a new one, and I want to install MBAM Pro on the new Laptop.

Can I just install MBAM and type the "old" license key or is there something else what I need to do

Thanks

Hi, iammike:

Happy New Year to you, as well. :)

Consumer licenses are transferable and valid for "lifetime", but can only be used on one computer at a time.

Ideally, one would want to completely uninstall MBAM from the old computer using the mbam-clean utility in order to remove all traces of the license ID/key.

How do I transfer a licensed Malwarebytes Anti-Malware PRO to my new computer?

If that's not possible, then you might want to contact the help desk to explain your situation.

They can be contacted >>HERE<<.

Please have your license ID and key available when you submit your ticket.

The ID & key would have been in the email from Cleverbridge: https://store.malwar...2/?scope=cuseco

If you didn't print out that email or write down the info somewhere, then you may obtain assistance with this directly from Cleverbridge:

cs@cleverbridge.com

Phone: +1-866-522-6855

Monday - Friday: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM (CST)

Also, their contact info can be found here.

When you get the email, please print it out & keep it somewhere handy, JIC.

(Alternatively, the license ID/key will be in the box, if you purchased MBAM on CD).

As long as the MBAM license is only running & being actively used on 1 computer, you probably won't have any problems.

It might not hurt, however, to let the support folks know.

HTH,
