PC Cleaner blocks malwarebytes?

Recommended Posts

My lap-top is infested by "PC Cleaner".

I downloaded your "free" product. I am unable to open it and scan anything....the same problem I have with McAfee, who sent me to your site.

Do I assume that Malwarebyts does not consider PC Cleaner "malware"?

Any suggestions as to how I can use your product?

Thanks

Enegue

Thank you for your reply. However it doesn't answer my question unless you're telling me I need to pay for assistance?

Apparently there is a program, perhaps legit, called PC Cleaner Pro which Malwarebytes does not remove.

My problem is with "PC Cleaner" which is blocking both McAfee and Malwarebyte scans.

The program doesn't show up anywhere such as the start or in the Win7 software removal.

When I check to compatibility of Malwarebytes in Win7 it says "incompatible".

Might Malwarebytes be interested IF a competitor is saying their program is "incompatible"?

Hi:

Some of the rogues and other forms of malware hide themselves on the system to make removal more difficult.

That's why it's often most helpful to get expert help.

No, you don't need to pay. :)

Please choose one of the following 3 options listed below:

  • Option 1 —— Free Expert advice in the Malware Removal Forum
  • Option 2 —— Paying customer -- Contact Support via email
  • Option 3 —— Premium, Fee-Based Support

Option 1 is free. :)

Option 2 is free to paid users of the PRO version of MBAM.

Option 3 is premium-fee-based support.

Most folks select Option 1.

Please start by following the steps in this sticky topic: I'm infected - What do I do now?

Then please start a new post in the malware removal section >>HERE<<.

A qualified malware expert will guide you through scanning and cleaning your system.

Please be patient, as the forum is quite busy this time of year and many of the experts are volunteers.

As far as the possible compatibility issue with McAfee, IIRC there have been past issues with running MBAM PRO in real-time with certain versions of McAfee consumer products..

I don't know if that is still the case -- the MBAM staff would need to know what exact McAfee products AND versions you are running.

If you are only running MBAM Free, then you should be fine.

Thanks,
