Version 1.7 keeps saying out of date

Recommended Posts

Hi and welcome, sheldon:

Yes, just click on the update button and let it update. :)

The installer will have been "packaged" or "shipped" with a database version that will now be a few days outdated.

So, even if your previous version (1.65) was up to date, you still need to update the databases again after installing the new version.

This is certainly true for a clean upgrade/install.

EDIT: This is also true for in-place program upgrades (unless they occur within hours of the new version release).

Current database version is 2012.12.29.07.

Please let us know if that resolves your issue.

Thanks,

WhenI upgraded to 1.7, it also it updated to 2012.12.29.06. At that point it kept saying it was 14 days out of date. When I tired to update, it contacted the sever and said it was up to date.

I just tried it again and it then update to 2012.12.29.07 and does not complain anymore.

Thanks

Might have been a bit of a hiccup with contacting the server.

Glad it's working OK. :)

Are you using PRO (paid) version?

If so, you might want to set your updater settings to notify with the tooltip balloon and/or flash scan after successful updates, so that you can watch to make sure it's behaving properly.

There are typically 10-12 updates in a 24-hour period.

(I use hourly updates, with flash scan and with tooltip balloon.)

Note: scheduled updates occur anytime in a window that starts 15 minutes before and ends 15 minutes after the scheduled time.

So, updates scheduled for ##:30 might happen any time between ##:15 and ##:45.

Cheers!

AFAIK, for an in-place upgrade through the updater in the progran UI, the database settings should be maintained; so, if version 1.65 was up to date, version 1.70 should be, as well, and it ought not to be necessary to update the databases again after the program update.

Hi,Just out of interest maybe i have mbam pro on two comps and they both updated (1.6 that is)and after that it said there was a new version .

I went through the updater and it also said 14 days out of date when finished...but then again i have always seen this behaviour so it was nothing unusual.

Very pleased with everything about the new version and it adds a bit of colour next to the red Kaspersky icon. :)

The database will always need an update after a program version upgrade except perhaps within an hour of initial release.

That's what I thought.

Then I must have had a senior moment/ b/c I recalled a change a few versions ago about updating.

Now that you mention it, I must have been thinking of the fairly recent change so that the updater no longer prompts first to update bases, then program version, and then bases again?

I've edited my earlier reply accordingly.

Sorry for the confusion. :(
