Poutnik Posted December 16, 2012 ID:623972 Share Posted December 16, 2012 How to ignore scanning of folder redirected by NTFS junction ?I have in My Vista64 Home Premium SP2 folder c:\users\User\Downloads redirected by NTFS junction to E:\Downloads.During scanning of disk C MBAM scans c:\users\User\Downloads what I do not want. When I try to add c:\users\User\Downloads to exclude list, it adds instead of a junction the real target folder E:\Downloads.Until now all is good. But if I trigger next scan, it is scanning all the c:\users\User\Downloads again.I guess something is wrong in way how MBAM treats NTFS reparse points. Poutnik Posted December 23, 2012 Author ID:626396 Share Posted December 23, 2012 It seems like during exception management MBAM follows reparse points, but during scan itself it does not.It should behave the same at both actions.
Poutnik Posted December 30, 2012 Author ID:628324 Share Posted December 30, 2012 The same is valid for the new MBAM 1.70.
Poutnik Posted December 30, 2012 Author ID:628470 Share Posted December 30, 2012 I hve to correct myself. It seems setting exclusions for JUNCTIONs works. What does not work is excluding Folder SYMLINKs.
Poutnik Posted February 1, 2013 Author ID:642107 Share Posted February 1, 2013 As free MBAM user I do not require support.OTOH I provide to MB free feedback and opportunity to improve their product.Expecting of few confirmative words is not so much....
