kaspersky antivirus 2009 user

Hi!

I 'm running window xp pro and my computer had previously got the malwares that disabled my window update and create pop ups. Kaspersky have deleted a bunch of virus and trojan and the problem have been subsided for a while. But now the pop up problems have came back.

I'm using firefox. The pop up seems to be initiated whenever I go to google.com to search or simply use the search tap. after a minute or so there will be either a firefox pop up or a IE pop up. While using google Chrome there's no pop up at all.

after posting my problem to kaspersky forum and follow their instruction to scan my machine with combofix and full scan with both your software and kaspersky. the window shut down itself couple times during the combofix scan but the pop up seems to be gone now. attachted are log from malwarebytes + hijackthis. my kaspersky log only show vulnerability.

i have already uninstalled "rouge" malwareRemovebot. it is the first entry when i google malwarebytes and i was carelessly install the programme.

Thank you.

Well you need to decide which forum you're going to get help from. If you're currently getting support from Kaspersky then you should remain there and have them finish helping you. Otherwise if you want us to help you then you need to let Kaspersky know so you're not wasting time for either one of us.

The MBAM logs show you did not take any action. You need to tell MBAM to fix the items.

Update and Scan with Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

  • Start MalwareBytes AntiMalware (Vista users must Right click and choose RunAs Admin)
  • Please DO NOT run MBAM in Safe Mode unless requested to, you MUST run it in normal Windows mode.
    • Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
    • Select the Update tab
    • Click Update

[*]When the update is complete, select the Scanner tab

[*]Select Perform quick scan, then click Scan.

[*]When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.

[*]Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.

[*]When completed, a log will open in Notepad. please copy and paste the log into your next reply

    • If you accidently close it, the log file is saved here and will be named like this:
    • C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs\mbam-log-date (time).txt

Then post back the MBAM log and a new Hijackthis log.
