glesu Posted December 3, 2012 ID:619304 Share Posted December 3, 2012 I bought and installed malwarebytes pro today. Some alarm clock went off in my head when I heard my computer working like a crazy nut, even when I was not working on it and I did not run a scan. So I checked the performance and guess what? Malwarebytes thinks it has to work overtime..... CPU usage of 40% and up to 60% from malwarebytes, remember no scan started. Memory usage out of control, occupied from malwarebytes. Disk traffic out of control too. Remember I have no program running, I'm just watching my resource monitor..... How come malwarebyte acts like that? Is there a way that I can keep the program under control? Could I get a refund? It just slows my system down to a snail.....Thanks.Glesu
daledoc1 Posted December 3, 2012 ID:619309 Share Posted December 3, 2012 Hello and welcome, glesu: This is the user forum, so we can't handle refunds or any sort of financial transaction here (that would have to be done through the reseller, Cleverbridge).Having said that, it's likely that you might need to set mutual exclusions between your AV and MBAM, as explained in the FAQ >>HERE<<?Or there could be something else going on with your system that could be causing the slowdowns.I'm quite confident that the staff/experts will be able to assist you with this. You might want to look at this sticky topic: Slow PC? - Start hereIn order to most efficiently assist you, though, please follow the instructions below and post back with the following logs as attachments to your next reply:Checkresults.txt from mbam-checkA couple of protection logs, if you have themDDS.txt from DDSAttach.txt from DDSThese will provide the MBAM staff with a bit of information that will permit them to pinpoint the cause and the solution for you. Thanks for your patience,daledoc1-----------------------------Step 1 -- Create an mbam-check log: Download mbam-check.exe from HERE and save it to your desktop. Double-click on mbam-check.exe to run it, it should then open a log file. Please attach to your next reply the CheckResults.txt file which should now be located on your desktop. Then, if you can, please also upload your 3 most recent Protection module logs:In Windows XP, these logs are located in: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\LogsIn Windows Vista/7, these logs are located in: C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\LogsStep 2 -- Run DDS and create 2 logs:Download DDS from one of the locations below and save it to your Desktop:dds.scrdds.comTemporarily disable any script blocker if your Anti-Virus/Anti-Malware has it.How To Temporarily Disable Your Anti-virus, Firewall And Anti-malware ProgramsOnce it is downloaded, you can disconnect from the Internet and disable your Ant-Virus temporarily if needed. Then double click dds.scr or dds.com to run the tool, on Vista or Win 7 right click and select Run as administratorClick the Run button if prompted with an Open File - Security Warning dialog box.A black DOS console should open and run for a moment. When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:DDS.txtAttach.txtSave both reports to your desktopPlease attach both of the following logs to your next reply: DDS.txt and Attach.txt--->You can ignore the note about zipping the Attach.txt file in most cases.
