False Positive PUP.BundleInstaller.BI

Recommended Posts

Hi zrmamc,

This is not a False Positive detection but a PUP detection.

PUP means Potentialy Unwanted Program.

PUPs will not damge your computer but in this instance the installer is for a bundle of software as opposed to a stand alone installer for the original software.

That bundle of software in most cases would be potentially unwanted by most users.

Thanks, I'll delete it to be safe. I may have already run it back in June however, Is there a way to determine what it installed? Malwarebytes does not find any other problems so can I assume it did not load any trojans etc?

Hi,

PUP.BundleInstaller do not install Trojans or malicious code.

The attached file bundles IncredibarToolBar and FilesFrog Update Checker.

If you do not want those applications they can be uninstalled by closing all browsers. Then goto Control panel add/remove programs and uninstall from there.
