PalTalk Messenger

Recommended Posts

I have MBAM Pro installed on my Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit computer. PalTalk is also installed on this computer. I haven't used Paltalk for a several weeks.

Today, I booted the machine to do something, but got distracted. So the machine sat there idle. I noticed a window that said MBAM had detected a malicious process atempting to start and has blocked the execution attempt.

The file was

C:\Windows\Paltalk Messenger\uninstall.exe and is listed as Adware.Agent. I selected Quarantine.

I don't understand why PalTalk's uninstaller would want to start all by itself. Do you think this is indeed a malicious file? Or maybe a false positive?
