Excessive Resources During Install

Recommended Posts

I have noticed on a few computers that when Malwarebytes is installing the CPU usage is extremely high (pretty much maxed out) and the memory usage climbs into the gigabytes.

The two noticeable processes are mbam.exe and mbamservices.exe.

It is so bad that the computer will freeze during install.

The common antivirus installed on all the computers has been Symantec End Point Protection.

Is there a compatibility issue with SEP maybe?

Just to add to this.... I use SEP with Windows XP and Windows 7 and I have not had issues with them. Perhaps excluding Malwarebytes files in SEP my help your situation. What version of SEP are you using?

I have disabled SEP during the install with the same results. SEP version 11.0.7000.975.

I don’t want to mislead and suggest that it is SEP compatibility issue. That is why I was asking.
