Malwarebytes won't open, DDS files attatched

Recommended Posts

OK, lets replace the file and see what happens.........

Please download OTL from one of the links below:

http://oldtimer.geekstogo.com/OTL.exe

http://www.itxassoci...T-Tools/OTL.exe

http://oldtimer.geekstogo.com/OTL.com (<---renamed version)

Save it to your desktop.

Run OTL

  • Under the Custom Scans/Fixes box at the bottom, paste in the following

    :files
    C:\Windows\SysWOW64\msvbvm60.dll|C:\Windows\winsxs\x86_microsoft-windows-msvbvm60_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7600.16385_none_c25a1af6b30d72ee\msvbvm60.dll /replace
    :Commands
    [EMPTYJAVA]
    [emptytemp]
    [EMPTYFLASH]

  • Then click the Run Fix button at the top
  • Let the program run unhindered, when done it will say "Fix Complete press ok to open the log"
  • Please post that log in your next reply. Note: If a file or folder cannot be moved immediately you may be asked to reboot the machine to finish the move process. If you are asked to reboot the machine choose Yes. In this case, after the reboot, open Notepad (Start->All Programs->Accessories->Notepad), click File->Open, in the File Name box enter *.log and press the Enter key, navigate to the C:\_OTL\MovedFiles folder, and open the newest .log file present, and copy/paste the contents of that document back here in your next post.

Well here's what I see so far...

Your version of msvbvm60.dll is unique to your computer and it says it's damaged.

Reinstalling MB will usually correct this but in your case it hasn't.

If you Google the MD5# (which is kind of the id number of the file .........you come up with no hits.)

This is mine off my XP computer and if you Google it, you'll get plenty of hits.

Do you know someone that's running W7 so we can get a fresh copy of the file?

Both copies that you have are the same.
