avutil-51.dll Virus with ALL Steam games, please fix ASAP.

Recommended Posts

MBAM just flaged avutil-51.dll as a trojan for me 10 mins ago,it resides in my avast programe files.

I did scan it with virustotal and it run clean. So i take it that it's a false positive.

Would be nice to have confirmation from a mod though.

Hello to all of you: :)

Sorry you are getting what might be a FP detection with MBAM.

It appears that this may have already been reported in the forum FP sub-section here: http://forums.malwar...howtopic=117003

The MBAM engineers will correct this ASAP, if it is a False Positive.

Thanks for your patience,

PS :) For future reference, in order to expedite the analysis and correction of the occasional FP, please do the following: :)

1) Follow the instructions in this sticky topic: READ BEFORE REPORTING A FALSE POSITIVE!

2) Start a new post in the FP section >>HERE<<

Thank you daledoc1 and everyone that responded (vouched) to this post.

Sorry about the lack of knowledge/format with your forums, I just posted in whatever seemed like a good spot, sorry again. You can move this thread if you would like, I now know that it's in the wrong section. Love your software AND your support/forums now.

Thanks again,

-Kiss me

Hi, garrettofpwnage:

It's not a problem. :)

I am just another home user, myself; and, for newcomers, it can be a bit of a challenge to find the correct sub-forum for different topics.

I just wanted to point you in the right direction, so that the possible FP would receive prompt attention from the MBAM engineers.

Thanks for your patience and for your support of MBAM,
