You Can Always go to Microsoft's web site in the Support section to check on a Knowledge Base (KB) Number. I Believe this one is the one released out of Band Last Friday to fix a security leak in IE.

Update for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 (KB2732059)

Locale: All

Deployment: Recommended/Automatic Updates, WSUS, and Catalog

Classification: Updates, Non-Security

Target platforms: Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2

Approximate file sizes:

  • Windows 7 update: ~ 286KB
  • Windows 7 x64/Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 update: ~ 288KB

Description:

Install this update to resolve issues in Windows. For a complete listing of the issues that are included in this update, see the associated Microsoft Knowledge Base article for more information. After you install this item, you may have to restart your computer.

Hello, RJGoodhouse:

I don't think this relates to the OOB IE patch from last week -- that was KB 2744842???

This one was just released yesterday (9/24/2012) and it's classified as NON-security. :)

I haven't found an official KB article yet, only the following:

http://www.sevenforu...s-7-update.html

and

http://support.micro...om/?kbid=894199

and the offline installers:

x86: http://www.microsoft...ows_allproducts

x64: http://www.microsoft...ows_allproducts

I wasn't offered it on my laptop via Windows Updates this morning, and my desktop hasn't yet checked for available updates today.

(Since there is no KB article yet, I am in no rush to do a manual check or install.)

Seems to be one of those mystery patches (at least at the moment) - perhaps it's one of those occasional updates for Windows Updates, in preparation for the eventual Win7 SP2 or IE10?
