Hey, might as well list all my questions in once to become a forumer faster.

1. Is it ok if I put up videos of me testing malwarebytes? and other antiviruses?

2. Is it ok if I have a chart like the MRG flashtest chart that says how much an antivirus passed and failed?

3. Does anybody know how to take snapshots in Vmware?

:welcome:

I'm not so sure if MBAM allows that here. You'll have to hear from them on their policies. By the way Malwarebytes' is not an antivirus.

If you can't work a vm then how are you going to test Malware? There are way too many people that don't know what they are doing. I suggest not doing this until you become more experienced.

1. Never said malwarebytes was a antivirus

2. I am experienced with vmware, I just need to know how to take snapshots in VMplayer, I heard you can take a single snapshot. Can't do it tho.

Hi DangerousClick and welcome to Malwarebytes.

The confusion is with this:

1. Is it ok if I put up videos of me testing malwarebytes? and other antiviruses?
Saying "other antiviruses" implies that what you were talking about previously, Malwarebytes, is also an antivirus. This isn't important in the context of your question.

Put up videos where? If you aren't saying that we endorse it, then I don't see any issue with fan-made videos. Someone may correct me on this point, however.

In VMPlayer, clicking "Suspend" creates a "snapshot." If you want snapshots like in VMWare Server, then you'll need that instead of Player.

And by videos, I ment that i test malwarebytes, or test other antiviruses and scan with malwarebytes after, like winsevenholic, and put it up somewhere.

Just gotta know where :)

Unless you have your own site then probably some site such as Youtube

Do you know how to take snapshots in VmwarePlayer? I heard I can take a Single snapshot, I want one that I can infect my VM, then return to the snapshot.

PS. I don't know how to make a website, I need help with one :P

Sorry but I don't have time to help with site creation, but there are a ton of great sites on the Web dedicated to showing you how to do it. Just google some sites for how to create a website (be careful of spammers though and which links you click on)

As for VMware Player I don't use it myself. I use VMware Desktop 8 to do all my potentially dangerous work.

Best of luck.

Chris already told you how to do Snapshots and his recommendation on VMware Server.

I think Ron means VMware Workstation. No it is not free. Version 9 is $250.

Google and read the faqs.

http://www.vmware.com/products/player/faqs.html

If you need something with Snapshots look at the open source VirtualBox which is free.

Virtualbox gives me errors, i cannot start it. I googled it, no help.

And who do you mean chris? Is screen's name chris? Or are you referring to the helpdesk worker? CW's?

There is a free trial of VMworkstation, you have to put all your personal stuff tho.

Ah then that might be an issue. Hardware Acceleration increases software performance that is run directly on the CPU such as VirtualBox. Without it your pc would perform very poorly.

Now for free websites there are a lot of sites that offer this such as webs, weebly and google sites. You can also get a free forum through Forumotion or Free Forums.
