Malware generating .js files

zauper

Recommended Posts

I have some kind of malware which is generating .js files in the folder: C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5, which is different from my true temp files. It generates those files (hidden, i only spot them on MBAM scans) inside folders inside that folder.

However, those files are hidden in a manner that I don't seem to be unable to unhide.

Here are the requested logs:

Hello zauper,

I do not see an antivirus program running or installed on this system. How long has this system been without an antivirus program?

If (a) you do NOT have an anti-virus application installed,

or (b) your subscription expired, however briefly,

or {c} you didn't have an anti-virus application installed when the machine got infected,

and/or (d) you've neglected to keep the machine fully patched at Windows Update,

the best and safest and only thing to do in a case like this is to wipe the system in total and do a clean install of Windows.
