Oh, and I'm going to upgrade using the recovery disks. As soon as I save what I need to a USB drive, I'm going to wipe my hard drive and insert the disks. Will wiping my hard drive get rid of the virus?

Wiping the drive clean will get rid of everything including any malware you have.

Really sorry, do I need Slacko Puppy, Lucid Puppy, or Windows Installer? I don't see Puppy Linux there.

Try this.....

Download and unzip the attached xp_exe_fix.zip

Copy xp_exe_fix.reg to your usb flash drive

Plug it in the sick computer and copy it to the desk top

Now double click on it and allow it to merge into the registry

See if that works

It should, try ERDNT.exe again.

If ERDNT.exe won't run, try to rename it to erdnt.com or erdnt.scr and see what happens.

Attached is a bat file that may work.

Download and unzip it, copy to your pen drive and then to the sick computer

Double click on it to run it

See what happens.

Do you know I'm not running Windows? I'm running Slacko. Not everything is the same.

Yes I know, not everything is going to work.

Enough for tonight.

I'll see what I can come up with tomorrow, MrC
