MBAM Update Issue & PC Freezing Up Using Pro

Recommended Posts

MBAM won't update for some reason

post-103702-0-44919000-1347648796.png

When ever I use Pro's RTP Module, my PC keeps freezing that everything stops responding that I have to force a PC restart (Power Button) every time :(! Is there any way to have MBAM Pro's RTP stop freezing my PC?

Isn't MBAM Pro's RTP supposed to be compattiable w/ any other Anti-Malware Program?

Please do the following and let us know if this corrects the issue for you or not. (Yes Malwarebytes is pretty much compatible with most antivirus programs)

  • Download and run mbam-clean.exe from here
  • It will ask to restart your computer, please allow it to do so very important
  • After the computer restarts, temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here
    • Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent via email if using the Pro version
You can also look up your ID and Key from the Registry and copy and paste it to a Notepad document before running the mbam-clean utility.
      Location for Windows x86

      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

      Location for Windows x64

      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

    • Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates.
Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray if using the Pro version. Now setup any file exclusions as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications. You may use the guides posted in the FAQ's here or ask and we'll explain how to do it.

Hi, EPL:

AdvancedSetup and Firefox would certainly know better (as I am just a home user & they will correct me if I am wrong), but, in addition to the 3 main executables:

mbam.exe

mbamgui.exe

mbamservice.exe

I think there is a new exe in the current version: mbamscheduler.exe.

(The FAQ may not yet have been updated to include it?)

You might want to check to be sure this one is also excluded.

<Just a thought>
