What is the new MBAMScheduler.exe....for?

Can I dispense with MBAMScheduler.exe? I have prevented this new service as per the screenshot.

I do not know the purpose of this new process. I don't think I need it.

So, no, there's no need to dispense with this process.

It controls the MBAM PRO scheduler that manages scheduled tasks (updates and scans).

Aside from real-time protection, the scheduler is one of the major enhanced features of the PRO version.

(That feature has always been a part of PRO, but the process is now a separate process.)

We'll have to wait for an MBAM staffer to weigh in as to whether disabling or removing it will cause program instability or crashes or other problems.

If you do not use the scheduler for automatic updates or scans then you may disable MBAMScheduler if you wish. If you do use the scheduler in Malwarebytes Anti-Malware to automate updates and/or scans, then you need to allow it to run.

(Nice to know that the scheduler CAN be safely disabled by folks who do not use it -- even though I can't imagine why one would do so. )
