symantec network adapter wont load driver?

i am working on a pc for a friend.. she said she opened a spam message and can no longer connect to anything related to the internet. all i can see wrong in the device manager is that her Symantec Network Security Miniport #3 isnt working. Its a message saying that windows cannot load the device driver. I cannot automatically try to update the drive cause of no connection. i tried to roll back and theres no previous version on there. All I can think of is that theres some type of virus or malware, spyware, something on this PC that is a little out of my league to deal with. I tried to put a free antivirus (she doesnt have one on her system (crazy i know)). But it wont let me without the email verification registry key. Tried to put my Super AntiSpyware onto a disc and load into her pc and it wont let me do that either.

Otherwise the pc looks great. A little slow from non maintenance, but I can fix that once I get her connection fixed. I also installed my wireless adapter to see if we could connect that way and it shows a 100% Excellent connection with a perfect signal strength to my router.. but wont load any wweb pages through IE or Firefox.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
