When I first got this virus I remember it shutting down my firewall (PC tools firewall plus). The firewall has been acting strangely ever since, and still seems to be a bit funny even though it is functioning as it was. The taskbar icon sometimes does not show up even though the tool is actually running. I am wondering if I should uninstall this and maybe use another firewall or re-intall it?

I suggest you to re-install Google Toolbar and PC Tools Firewall Plus. This should help.

yes, I uninstalled firefox and PC Tools altogether, and I reinstalled chrome which seems to be working ok now.

• Download OTC to your desktop and run it
  
• Click Yes to beginning the Cleanup process and remove these components, including this application.
  
• You will be asked to reboot the machine to finish the Cleanup process. Choose Yes.
  

Next, uninstall ESET Online Scanner and manually delete ResetTeaTimer.
