Possible pc infection, malwarebytes will not update...

Recommended Posts

Every time I try to update my outdated malwarebytes software, it won't connect to the server then shows up as program not responding in the task manager.

Upon reading another thread I downloaded roguekiller and scanned. the following are my results:

I also run superantispyware. I disabled it and tried to update that way, but still no luck. one of the processes roguekiller found is my screensaver and has been for over a year now...

Any assistance offered would be most appreciated. Does my system look ok? How can I get malwarebytes to update?

Thank you in advance.

Hi and welcome to Malwarebytes.

Please start MBAM, run a Quick Scan, and post its log.

Download DDS and save it to your desktop from http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/dds.scr here

or http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/dds.com or

Disable any script blocker if your antivirus/antimalware has it.

Then double click dds.scr to run the tool.

DDS will run in a command prompt window and will take 3 to 4 minutes or so.

  • When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:
  • DDS.txt
  • Attach.txt
  • Save both reports to your desktop.

Please Copy & Paste contents of the following logs in your next reply:
