mystart.incredibar.com redirect ONLY when typing .yahoo.com

Recommended Posts

Hello all, and a great thanks to daledoc1 for the guidance.

I followed his recommendations (daledoc1) and I am seeking support because the issue I have is on my macbook pro laptop on which I am running virtual windows 7 (prof). My daughter was attempting to enter an educational games website and somehow she landed the incredibar. I removed whatever was there in the programs list, but for some reason, when I open IE and type yahoo.com it redirects to mystart.incredibar.com. Now, if I type www.yahoo.com it does not go to the incredibar site. For some reason it does that only when I type yahoo.com (ommitting the www.) I tried all suggested venues for resolution and although it is 'seemingly' not infected I am worried that there may be an underlying problem.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you all

Hello mpouxesas,

Using IE (only!) to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737

[ignore any DOES NOT APPLY warning as well as the APPLIES TO section],

run the Fix It and then reboot.

Tip: For optimal results, enable the Delete personal settings option.

Let me know if that helps.
