Windows Update Error 80246008

I keep getting this error right after I try to install the updates, but I keep getting this error. Recently I got rid of a bunch of viruses that have affected Windows Update, but now even if the Windows Update is back on, I cant update. I followed the suggestions set up by Microsoft and it didnt help: http://windows.microsoft.com/is-IS/windows-vista/Windows-Update-error-80246008 and I did not find the Backround Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) and when I tried to reset the Windows Event Log, it gave me the error "Windows could not stop the Windows Event Log Service on Local Computer, Error 5: Access is denied". Is there anyway to fix this problem?

I am closing this thread to prevent me-too posts.

Windows Update Error 80246008 can well be due to malware infection (as IS the case here), and the malware must be cured, before fixing the windows services.
