No internet on windows 7 (wifi or LAN) after running Malware bytes.

Recommended Posts

Hello I am a definate newby when it comes to this sort of thing. I recieved a zeroacces trojan on a work laptop. (Lenovo x220 running windows 7) I am not sure how I even recieved it. I only noticed after my work VPN stopped working and MCAFFE popped up every other second saying that zeroacces trojan had been deleted. I ran MALWARE Bytes in hopes this would definatley kill any trojans or viruses. After the program ran it detected and removed the trojans and asked me to reboot my system. After this was complete my computer would not connect to the internet via wifi or LAN. The computer recognizes wireless networks but cannot connect. It does nothing when its hard wired in. Also when I go to Control Panel>Network and Internet>Network Connections the whole page is blank I cannot see any connections.????

Please help me get this resolved!

Thank you all for your patience and help in advance.

Thank you for your response. I have tried to restore my computer twice however both attempts failed. There are two days I can restore too its a new pc. The days are 8/8/12,8/7/12. there are numerous times during those 2 days that I can restore back to. I haven't tried them all however. I just picked one point on 8/8/12 and one on 8/7/12. They both failed.

No, there's no files or folders in the registry........

Please download Farbar Service Scanner and run it on the computer with the issue.

  • Make sure the following options are checked:
    • Internet Services
    • Windows Firewall
    • System Restore
    • Security Center
    • Windows Update
    • Windows Defender

    [*]Press "Scan".

[*]It will create a log (FSS.txt) in the same directory the tool is run.

[*]Please copy and paste the log to your reply.

Check these services and make sure it's set to automatic

Dnscache Service is not running. <---auto

Dhcp Service is not running <-----auto

http://www.sevenforu...rt-disable.html

------------------------------------------

Then download nsi.reg to your desktop > double click on it and allow it to merge into registry:

http://download.blee...vices/7/nsi.reg

Reboot and let me know, MrC

MrC it appears that after reboot my wireless and LAN are working! Thank you!

I did notice that in control panel>all control panel items>network and sharing center the network is still unkown? The icon in the lower right corner shows that nothing is connected but when I open it it says it is? As of right now I am just happy that the internet is working again.

Do you have any other options to further restore the computer to its original pre MB status?
