Hello, shortly after turning on my laptop, MBAM alerted an IP block

204.160.98.253 (Type: outgoing, Port: 49244, Process: svchost.exe)

I was a bit alarmed at the process, however shortly after i got

204.160.98.253 (Type: outgoing, Port: 49563, Process: avwebgrd.exe)

I only posted here, because svchost is usually associated with windows updates, and yes , today i had windows updates.

I was on the net at the time of the alert, so maybe its nothing to do with updates.

I scanned with MBAM which was clean, sorry if Im over reacting, Cheers for any advice :)

It's not an F/P I'm afraid, and due to what it is known for (DOS attacks), it is likely your machine is part of a botnet, and as such, I'd urge you have your computer checked for infection.

I'm infected - What do I do now?

Thanks for the reply, however I do not think my computer is part of a botnet. I had the machine into the shop recently, to have anew keyboard fitted. Unless one of the staff has been using the machine, I doubt its infected. I will heed your advice and post on the infected forum. Thanks
