potentially malicious processes

Recommended Posts

Hello Guys,

To start, 2 days ago I've been receiving notification from bitdefender total security 2013 that there are potentially malicious processes in my computer. And they are the following:

C:\Program Files\HP\Digital Imaging\bin\hpqtra08.exe

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Calibration\Adobe Gamma Loader.exe

i ran a quick scan on malwarebytes but there were no threats detected.

Any help guys??

thank you

Hello and welcome to MBAM forum, robert_bryan10: :)

Disclaimer: I am just a home user and am neither authorized nor qualified to provide any sort of malware advice. :excl:

Having said that, I do recognize the first file as a legitimate file that is part of HP printer software.

However, I can not determine in any way whether that file may be infected or not.

And I cannot comment at all on the other file.

If you are getting these detections in your Bitdefender AV (but not by MBAM) and you think that they might be false positives, then it would be best to report them to the folks at Bitdefender??? :)

If, OTOH, you think you might be infected, please read below for the steps to have a qualified expert evaluate and clean your system:

IMPORTANT: Please do NOT use any temporary file cleaners unless instructed to do so - they can cause data loss, making recovery difficult.

  • Doing so may cause your topic to be overlooked, as it will appear that you are already being helped.

If you are a paid user of MBAM PRO and would like support via the helpdesk, please contact them here.

OPTION 3:

If you prefer the Malwarebytes Premium Services (comprehensive solutions to all your computer support needs – from installation and set-up to troubleshooting and tune-ups), please go to the Premium Support site here.
