Virus still there?

Hey!

Some time ago my computer got infected with a fake anti malware virus (don't remember the name though) which I hoped was removed, plus I had problems with blue screens. However, my computer still is very slow and when running my usual anti-virus software I get many warnings from files not beeing able to be read.

So, I am worried that something is still run and my anti virus program is just not able to detect it. Downloaded Malwarebytes and run the check - said everything was fine. Just to make sure I would be very glad if someone could take a look at this.

Below find the logs for malwarebytes and avira antivirus as well as attached the dds.txt and attach.txt files.

The most important things to remember when running it is to disable all your malware programs and run Combofix from your desktop.

Ensure you have disabled all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.

If you get the message Illegal operation attempted on registry key that has been marked for deletion after you run ComboFix....please reboot the computer, this should resolve the problem. You may have to do this several times if needed.

Thank you!

I did run Combo Fix (please see log below) but I could not install the Windows Recovery Console due to a missing internet connection.

Is the only way to do it manually? To me it sounds rather complicated (I am no computer expert at all) or is a way to run combofix again with internet connection and then it would be done automatically?

Plus, after running Combofix Avast! found a rootkit on my computer (even though I deactivated all antivirus programmes as directed). I clicked on deleting the infected file. Hope that was ok.

Is the only way to do it manually? To me it sounds rather complicated (I am no computer expert at all) or is a way to run combofix again with internet connection and then it would be done automatically?

If you run ComboFix with an internet connection, it would have been automatically installed.

Plus, after running Combofix Avast! found a rootkit on my computer (even though I deactivated all antivirus programmes as directed). I clicked on deleting the infected file. Hope that was ok.

I now did run Kaspersky TDSSKiller (please see log attached) and it did not show any malicious objects.

Furthermore, I also was able to install a recovery console , established a new restore point and did a backup of the registery with ERUNT.

Also, having the Avast! Antivirus program on makes my computer unbelievable slow - it won't even open an internet page. Is this normal? Wouldn't it mayby also be enough with Avira and Malwarebytes as protection. Would be very grateful for your recommendation on how to keep my computer safe.

Computer seems fine now. Just two more questions:

1.) What happens if I use my external harddriver or USB stick - can there be anything be transfered back to the computer? I guess when running an antivirus check them before opening anything I would be on the safe side, right?

2.) Is it enough to run MBAM scan regularly or do I need to run e.g. Combofixs or Kaspersky also regularly? If not, is it advicable to deinstall both programs again?

See my first comment and we'll uninstall those programs when we are done, you shouldn't run them without proper guidance.

A little clean up to do....

Please Uninstall ComboFix: (if you used it)

Press the Windows logo key + R to bring up the "run box"

Copy and paste next command in the field:

ComboFix /uninstall

Make sure there's a space between Combofix and /

Then hit enter.

This will uninstall Combofix, delete its related folders and files, hide file extensions, hide the system/hidden files and clears System Restore cache and create new Restore point
