Network connection stuck at "Identifying"

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone: Three days ago I got infected by a file I downloaded, as soon as I noticed the file didn't open, I scanned it with Avast! (the antivirus I have installed) which detected it as a threat. I ordered Avast to isolate the file to the "chest" (? it's baúl in Spanish) and it said it lost connection to the server, so I ordered Avast to delete the file. That day, the computer worked well, as well as the next day, but yesterday morning, when I tried connecting to the Internet (either by LAN or Wireless) the process gets stuck at identifying, and I can't get access to the Internet. I ran a full scan of Avast, having to delete a file it found as it wouldn't let me isolate it, I ran two full scans of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, (in safe mode) one of them found a pair of infected files which were automatically deleted. After searching for a while on the Internet (obviously from other computer, connected to the same router, I mean the router is OK) I stumbled upon some people that reported the same issue I have, and it had something to do with windows firewall, so I went to check the firewall on my PC. The firewall appears to be locked, asking me if I want to update the firewall's configuration, it won't let me deactivate or change anything on it, as if I click the update configuration button nothing happens. I kept searching on the net and I found a way to supposedly reactivate it, I downloaded the two registry entries one for BFE and the other for the firewall. I gave everyone permission to activate the BFE as the post instructed, and started the service in services.msc, the BFE started OK. But when I tried to start the firewall service, at the beginning of the process, an error window popped saying something like: "Windows could not start Windows Firewall in local System. For further information go through system events registry. If this is not a Microsoft Service, contact the service provider and reference the specific error code of service 5" I ran the dds scan and attached it here, I can also post any screenshot you need, but they will be in Spanish. Thanks in advance.

Logs will be closed if you haven't replied within 3 days Please don't attach the scans / logs for these tools, use "copy/paste". Lets give this a try.

Go into Device Manager, open the Network Adaptors, Right Click on them and uninstall them, reboot and let Windows reinstall them.

Here's how to get to Device manager in W7 http://www.techtalkz.com/windows-7/515982-how-use-device-manager-windows-7-a.html
