DNS Changer rootkit

Recommended Posts

Will there be any help for this issue in the coming days? They are making this a "big deal" on the net and media and I wanted to know how serious is this really going to be. If I posted in the wrong area excuse me for it. Thanks and hope to read a reply.

Hello and welcome, nsane2012: :)

[i'm just a home user, not a geek or security pro.]

Perhaps take a look at these recent threads (and similar ones here and at sites such as bleepingcomputer.com, wilderssecurity.com, etc):

In particular, please look carefully at the replies by the experts of the MBAM staff. :)

as well as:

DNS Changer Check-Up

TMALSS, If everything checks out OK at these sites, and your AV and anti-malware (MBAM) scans are clean, you should be OK from the standpoint of this problem.

You can also contact your ISP -- many of them have special webpages set up to address this.

There's much "FUD" out there on the internet about this, unfortunately.

HTH,
