Program_error_updating (0,0,I/O error)

Recommended Posts

Hi,

i have a laptop that has become infected,i installed MWB but i get the error above when i try to update it. I have created an exception in Windows Firewall but that did'nt help. I ran the program as is,and it found 20 instances of pup.mywebsearch which i removed. I did try Superantispyware and that wont update either, perhaps there is more malware preventing these updates? I ran Microsoft Security Essentials first, but it didn't find anything. Several keys on my keyboard have stopped working,i tried to update the drivers and that didn't work. My internet connection is working and i can access the net,but very difficult to download anything or to even access the bios with various key not working. Could these problems be related?

Any help would be appreciated

Thank you

Hello BillyC -

I am sorry to hear that you are infected, but please read and follow this information -

As we don't deal with malware removal in this General Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Forum, you need to start a topic in the Malware Removal forum so a qualified helper can help you fix any malware related problems/infections you may have.

•Please read and follow the directions >> HERE, << skipping any steps you are unable to complete. Then post a >> NEW topic here.

•After making your new post, make sure under options, you select Track this topic and choose Immediate Email Notification, so that you're alerted when someone has replied to your post.

•One of the expert helpers there will give you one-on-one assistance when one becomes available.

•Please refrain from making any further changes to your computer such as (Install/Uninstall programs, use special fix tools, delete files, edit the registry, etc...) unless advised by a malware removal helper. Doing so can result in system changes which may hinder the attempts by a helper to clean your machine.

NOTE: Please DO NOT post back to (bump) your topic within the first 48 hours.

Alternatively, as a paying customer, you can contact the help desk at support@malwarebytes.org

Thank You -
