Can you purchase MABM Pro in stores?

Recommended Posts

Hello guys. I was wondering if I could purchase Malwarebytes Anti-Malware pro from stores such as Best Buy, Frys Electronics, or other stores? I prefer purchasing things from stores rather than buying online.

Also, I'm planning on using Kaspersky with MABM Pro. I'm wondering if that's a good combo. What do you guys think of the Anti-virus called Kaspersky? Any thoughts/experiences/opinions of it?

I sent in a ticket and they answered my question about purchasing at stores. :)

If any of you have any experiences with how MABM Pro functions with Kaspersky, please share. I would still like to know if these two programs are compatible with one another. Thank you.

Hi Yohkou and :welcome:

You'll be happy to know that we do have Malwarebytes Anti-Malware available for purchase from retail stores in addition to online. :)

To answer your second question, generally our product works nicely alongside Kaspersky's line of products. From time to time a compatibility issue will pop up, usually when one of us pushes out a new version, but when it does happen, we're quick to do whatever we can to fix it.

Hope this helps! Feel free to let me know if you have any other questions.

Edit: Oops, looks like our support team beat me to your first question.

Hello and welcome:

I've been running MBAM PRO and KIS on both my rigs for nearly 2 years.

No problems.

(System specs below in my signature block.)

-->If you are installing KIS on a system running MBAM, it will automatically uninstall MBAM (and pretty much any other security program) during the installation.

(To minimize risk of minor glitches, I personally prefer to manually, temporarily uninstall MBAM first by running MBAM-clean & then rebooting before a KIS install.)

Once you have KIS all updated and configured, you can reinstall MBAM.

-->If you already have KIS installed and want to install MBAM, then it's probably a good idea to temporarily pause protection when you install MBAM.

I also set the mutual exclusions between KIS and MBAM, although I know some folks here run them both just fine without doing so.

To some extent, it will depend on your system resources.

The only caveat is that if you do run into issues with KIS, the first thing the KL folks will suggest doing (if only to troubleshoot) will be to uninstall MBAM & possibly revert to MBAM Free. I've never personally had to do this, and only VERY rarely (if ever) has MBAM (PRO or Free) been the real source of the issue for the other folks, but you know how those AV vendors are.... ;)

More specifically:

  • If you will be running MBAM PRO, please be sure you have your license ID and key available (sent via email at the time of online purchase, or in the box).
  • Download the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from HERE, then temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and run the installer. (Ignore all 'Recommended' or 'Sponsored' software which are prominently displayed on the mirror sites -- they are ads and MBAM does not have any association with them.)
  • If you are using MBAM PRO, you will need to register the program using the license ID & key.
  • Launch the MBAM program and (if you are using MBAM PRO) set the Protection and Registration.
  • Then go to the UPDATE tab (if not done during installation) and check for updates.
  • Restart the computer and verify that MBAM is in the task tray (if using the PRO version).
  • Now set up any file exclusions, as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications, and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications. You may use the guides posted in the FAQs HERE, or ask and we'll explain how to do it.

I think it's a very robust combination.

HTH,
