Windows Defender

Hi....

I noticed (in Win 7 event viewer) an event error (7023) stating Win Defender could not start, app not available. In Control Panel, Win Defender is turned off. In services, Win Defender is set to automatic. Can I turn the service off safely? I've never fooled with the services but common sense tells me to just disable it! :)

I use McAfee for my AV and firewall.

The error started after a successful virus removal (with the terrific assistance of Gringo) a couple weeks ago. I get it at boot up daily.

Thanks...

Ann

Thanks for replying RG. I understand that. Please read my post again. I need to know if it is OK to disable the Win Defender Service(in services). I have an AV program running.

Thanks,

Ann

Yes Ann, if you enabled it, you can disable it without any issue.
