You haven't seen high memory usage in mbam.exe and mbamservice.exe yet.

So, I ran across this today at work... evidently someone bought a Pro license for MBAM and threw it up on this computer.

Yeah... I don't think it's supposed to be doing that?

mbam.exe does the same thing after it takes its merry 20-30 seconds to start up (with 3gb RAM and 100% of one core CPU).

This happened before and after updating the database (with no errors). No other (redundant, in my opinion) AV software is installed on this system, so no exceptions apply.

But I'm pretty sure this is one of the most extreme cases you guys have seen? I use MBAM Pro on my computer at home, and while its resource consumption does get a little... unruly... at times... it never resorted to this extreme an amount of runaway memory gobbling.

I tried "/debug" but it never offered to save a log, it just started and exited like normal. Not sure how to get that function to work...

Well if it's on a work computer then the system administrator should contact our support department for assistance as they should have the corporate license for the product that comes with direct support assistance.

Thanks

Well... therein lies the problem. I'm the IT guy at the office on staff but we have a disjoint "contractor" sort of IT management political atmosphere. Not sure if it was one of us or one of the users that installed it (that would be weird...), but... no help in the forum? It still runs fine but I thought it's a little comically excessive memory usage. Maybe I could get support as a Pro license holder myself? Heck, even then, I tried searching for solutions before posting and I'd think it'd be nice to have this discussion out here where people can learn from it...?

There are a number of reports of high memory usage and typically we are able to assist in correcting it.

The issue is licensing on a business computer. Please send me a Private Message with the license ID and KEY from the Registry

x64

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

x86

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

Then we'll see who does own the license and I'll get back to you.

Thanks
