Not sure i've i've anything running in the background, yesterday, i seen a shortcut in my start menu called Report Generator, i clicked it!!!

i seen it generate a report of some kind, then the program dissapeared

the icon for the program looked like the new windows 8 icon (squared windows) if you get my drift.

the first part of the thread, did you read it?, I'm not sure what it was, but it was called Report Generator, it made some sort of report, then disappeared so i'm not sure if there is something bad on the PC that made it do this report, i've asked on sevenforums, but there's been no reply, i've googled report generator, but nothing looks like what my screen showed, it was all programs for working with.

Please download and run RogueKiller.

For Windows XP, double-click to start.

For Vista or Windows 7, do a right-click on the program, select Run as Administrator to start, & when prompted Allow to run.

Click Scan to scan the system (don't run any other options, they're not all bad!)

Post back the report.

First, Please don't start new threads, stay in this one, just use the "More Reply Options" in the lower right hand corner to reply.

Find the "Report Generator" icon in the "Start" menu and right click on it and choose "Properties" then "Find Target".

See what it belongs to.

Well I don't see anything in the DDS scans for it, we can do a couple of scans to check for any malware.

It looks like you already ran Malwarebytes, so please do this.....

Please make sure system restore is running and create a new restore point before continuing.

XP users > please back up the registry using ERUNT.

Doubleclick on TDSSKiller.exe to run the application, then click on Change parameters.

Please download and run ComboFix.

The most important things to remember when running it is to disable all your malware programs and run Combofix from your desktop.

No, as i said in my OP, it was this "Report Generator" program that run and now i can't find anything on the PC or about it.

I'll leave it just now, so a big thank you form your time and looking at these logs

No, none that i notice.

OK, like I said I don't see any malware on the system, what that program was...I don't know but it appears it has done no harm to the PC.

A little cleanup to do......

Please Uninstall ComboFix:

Press the Windows logo key + R to bring up the "run box"

Copy and paste next command in the field:

ComboFix /uninstall

Make sure there's a space between Combofix and /

Then hit enter.

This will uninstall Combofix, delete its related folders and files, hide file extensions, hide the system/hidden files and clears System Restore cache and create new Restore point

Save it to your desktop.

Run OTL and hit the CleanUp button. (This will cleanup the tools and logs used including itself)

Any other programs or logs you can manually delete.

You have out date Java on the system, older versions are vulnerable to malware.

Please go to your control panels add/remove programs and uninstall these:

Java Auto Updater

Java™ 6 Update 30

Then download and install the latest version Java™ 7 Update 5.
