Pando Software

Does anyone know anything about the usefulness of Pando Media Booster? It appears to be some kind of P2P software. I have no idea how it was installed on my computer unless you need it for Hulu or Crackle. I have never used it to my knowledge (even opened it). It looks like it has two processes associated that run all the time. It does not appear under Programs/Features (Win 7), so I was wondering if anyone here uninstalled it and if so how they uninstalled it.

Thanks.

so I was wondering if anyone here uninstalled it and if so how they uninstalled it.

Hi, tqh:

No idea about the software, but -- until someone more expert comes along -- a Google search of "uninstall Pando media booster" turns up quite a few links at their support page and forum, as well as at several gaming fora.

Perhaps there's something there?

Thanks for the reply. Yes. I googled and I am suspicious of this program and publisher. I came here to find out if anyone had any direct experience. The Pando website instructs you to go to Programs and Features which, as previously stated, does not show Pando. Now, I realize that might suggest that I have already uninstalled it, but there are two Pando processes running in the background. This thing is potentially using bandwidth for no reason. Regardless, I would like to get rid of it altogether at this point. Any recommendations on how to uninstall?

hello there ,

i did some checking and it seems that a lot of people have had problems related to "pando" (PMB.exe) .

(it sounds familiar for some reason)

call it scam/scum/malware ... it is bad order ... it can allow other crap into your comp .

the best bet is to head over to the malware removal section and start a new thread .

start here : http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=81385

follow the instructions to the best of your abilities .

do not run any "cleaners" unless instructed to do so by one of the malware removal experts .

good luck .

Thanks CWB for your reply. I started a topic per your suggestion here: http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=111112&hl=&fromsearch=1

This software appears to be a P2P client. I do not use it to my knowledge so whether it is dangerous or not - I really don't care at this point. I do think you are right in that it is shady.

Thanks again.
