Safest place to download Malwarebytes?

Recommended Posts

The title says it all, though I do want to make it clear that I don't quite trust CNET and I would rather prefer another website. I've heard filehippo is good, though I'm pretty sure it isn't one of your 'mirror sites'. If there is one such site, please list. If there are more than one, the more the merrier! I already have MBAM installed from CNET because that's where the download link on your website took me, but I'm probably going to delete it and run MBAM clean, and then download it from another site. Also, a link to mbam clean would be appreciated as well. Thanks alot, and have a great day guys!

If you feel comfortable with FileHippo then you can download it from there, here is the link =>Download HERE<=

Here are the download links for you, when a new version comes out, sometimes it takes time for all the mirrors to catch up with the latest version....

Download FROM HERE: This link will direct you to any of the following download sites, all considered safe:

CNET

FileForumBeta

MajorGeeks

TechSpot

Bleeping Computer

Beta News

Note: Ignore all 'Recommended' or 'Sponsored' software which is prominently displayed, they are ads and we do not have any association with them.

Save the file to your desktop then double-click it to begin installation.

Or you can use this official link HERE

***** Although not needed, but if you want a clean install of Malwarebytes please do the following:

  • Download and run mbam-clean.exe from here
  • It will ask to restart your computer, please allow it to do so very important
  • After the computer restarts, temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here

    • Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent via email if using the Pro version
    • Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates.
Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray if using the Pro version. Now setup any file exclusions as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications. You may use the guides posted in the FAQ's here or ask and we'll explain how to do it.

Thanks and should you have any issues please let us know.... :)

Thank you Firefox, have a great day!

P.S: The "official link" is the same thing as downloading form CNET or filehippo or bleepingcomputer right? It's the mbam installer? Thanks :)

So, for example, if I installed from that "official link" and it is version 1.61 and the latest is version 1.62, is it possible that by just doing the update, it'll change to version 1.62?

Yes if you have downloaded 1.61 and a new version comes out and you download that new version and install it right over the old one it will update it.

Once you have version 1.61 installed, its just easier to use the build in Update Button (updater) to get the latest version installed. If you have the Pro version this should be automatic where it downloads the latest version and notifies you that a new version was downloaded and available for install.
