marieshawn Posted June 2, 2012 ID:557003 Share Posted June 2, 2012 Hi,While running my full scan today, I don't know what happened to the window that shows the scan running, how long its gone on, and if there are any viruses; I may have accidently x'd it out. Anyway, I've tried all kinds of things to get that to reopen and I can't seem to do it. I like to check the progress periodically to make sure the scan is advancing properly. Any ideas? Thanks~
noknojon Posted June 2, 2012 ID:557048 Share Posted June 2, 2012 Hi -If enoughof the scan was completed you may have a record in Logs (top line of the main MBAM face) -If not just re-run the scan, there is always a scan log kept in "Logs" history -Any other details required, please post back and we will help you -Thank You -

My problem was during the scan I couldn't access I believe you referred to it as the face. Everytime I tried to access it, only a small window poped up saying "its already running," which of course offers no info regarding the progress of the scan. Thanks~
daledoc1 Posted June 3, 2012 ID:557134 Share Posted June 3, 2012 Hello, marieshawn: Until noknojon returns....I think he was referring to opening the main program interface by clicking the MBAM desktop icon, and then opening the "logs" tab. That will open a list of all the completed scans, and you can select the log you'd like to view.Is your problem resolved? If not, please let us know, and we will assist you further.A couple of other things come to mind from your original post:1) It's really not necessary to run routine FULL scans with MBAM. Quick scans are typically all that is needed, unless one is specifically dealing with cleaning up remnants of infections.2) You also mention that you are using MBAM to scan for "viruses". Please note that MBAM is NOT an anti-virus (AV) program & is not a substitute for a standard anti-virus (AV). Rather, it is a specialized program designed specifically to target MALWARE that is not caught by your anti-virus (AV). Your first line of computer defense should be a robust, up-to-date anti-virus program (AV), either a free one or a paid version. There are many from which to choose. If you are only using the Free version of MBAM, then you really, really need to install an AV (and firewall) for real-time protection. You can then use MBAM Free for additional, on-demand scans, or you can upgrade to MBAM PRO for layered, real-time protection alongside your AV.HTH, daledoc1PS Please use the "Reply to this Topic" or "More Reply Options" buttons (instead of the “Quote” and “MultiQuote” buttons) when replying here & at the other forums.
