mbam quarantined a file that had been on my system for several months.

Avanquest /PowerDesk

Originally installed 1/31/2012

directory of: C:\Program Files (x86)\Avanquest\PowerDesk now shows a date of 5/26/2012

C:\Program Files (x86)\Avanquest\PowerDesk\HelpFiles.exe was scanned and found to be a Trojan.FakeAlert

As a result I Quarantined the file.

Procedure

created directory: C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\false_positive_query

copied quarintined files to tC:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\false_positive_query

copied log files to: C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\false_positive_query

copied data from log files to logs_and_procedure.txt

based on information from: http://forums.malwar...howtopic=110334

Unquarantined the file and ran another scan on the file using /developer switch

copied C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\false_positive_query\HelpFiles.exe

to

C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\false_positive_query

closed Malwarebytes

1. Click the Start Menu.

2. Click Run.

3. Type in "mbam.exe /developer", without the quotes.

4. Run the same type of scan you did before and save the logfile and post it.

Additionally, please attach the file with your post. Make sure it is in ZIP or RAR format
