Stop Screen Error With Nvidia Graphics Driver

Trav

Recommended Posts

This problem surfaced after a recent update happened to League of Legends. On occasion the attached stop error occurs. The error has also cropped up in other programs such as Minecraft.

I decided to check and see if the NVIDIA driver was out of date, and found a link to a driver posted only a few days ago. I'm anxious about installing though, since I've had a bad history with past installations of graphics card drivers.

Any insight into what exactly the error I'm getting means and whether or not updating the driver version listed below would even fix the problem would be appreciated.

Alot would depend on the version of your video card and if the new driver update is applicable to your card, i installed the 301.42 drivers yesterday on my system with a GTX 560M card and no problems.

"Running a 8500GT."

i am running a 9500GT and i performed the driver update that was released a couple of days ago ... no problems encountered .

the preferred method of driver updates is checking/downloading from the nvidia site as opposed to "windows update" .

when i update the driver(s) i turn off all unnecessary programs and such .

as for the stop error ...

update the driver and see what happens .

take it from there .
