WoW Launcher False positive, IP block

Hello!

I've been having possible false positives pop up when I run World of Warcraft launcher.

The first time it popped up I reinstalled Windows because I was worried my system had been infected since it hadn't happened until about 2 days ago with this program and I have been using Malwarebytes for a little longer than that.

After the reinstallation of Windows, and while re-installing World of Warcraft to my computer, I still kept receiving the IP block notifications.

Here's what the log files have to say:

IP-BLOCK 84.16.230.244 (Type: outgoing, Port: 6881, Process: launcher.exe)

IP-BLOCK 84.16.230.244 (Type: outgoing, Port: 6881, Process: launcher.exe)

IP-BLOCK 84.16.230.244 (Type: outgoing, Port: 50101, Process: launcher.exe)

IP-BLOCK 84.16.230.244 (Type: outgoing, Port: 50289, Process: launcher.exe)

Launcher.exe is a Blizzard Entertaiment program.

Could this be a false positive?

Curious as to why it would be going through that IP, but no, it's not an F/P.

However, the problems with the IP appear to now be resolved, so it will be unblocked on the next update.

It's not a false positive? Malwarebytes is not finding anything on my computer so I take it I don't have to be alarmed by this?

world of warcraft by default uses p2p to get the files for the game

try turning off peer to peer and see if that makes a difference

Thanks! I turned off P2P and haven't received IP block notifications so far.

Hopefully that solved it.
