MBAM Blocks Safe Websites - How do I unblock websites?

Recommended Posts

Hello.

Recently, MBAM blocked one of my school websites, and since then I can't connect to this website.

This website is totally safe and clean since it is maintained by professional school programmers.

How do I unblock this website? (I'm using Google Chrome)

I need to access this website urgently, so help will be kind.

Thanks in advances,

-MBAM User

Hello :)

You can unblock it by right clicking the system tray icon and unchecking "Website Blocking". Then open a Command Prompt by right clicking "Run as Administrator" and typing "ipconfig /flushdns" to reset the DNS cache which should allow you access. :)

A better option would be to right-click the tray icon after the block occurs and using the Add to Ignore List menu instead of just unchecking Website Blocking, so that you can stop Malwarebytes Anti-Malware from blocking the safe site without unblocking all other sites.

Flushing DNS as described above after adding a site to the Ignore List this way is still a good idea though.

My add to ignore list option at the tray icon is grayed out, so I can't even get into the ignor list. I'm having the same issue with one perticular site. What happens now?

Mines blocking from the filesystem protection being checked. I uncheck it and can get right in the web site. Can get it with the website blocking checked just fine.

Nope scratch that. I can get into the site with the websiteblock checked and the filesystem protection unchecked, but can move around in the site. I have to have them both unchecked to move around in the site.

Hi, dino4520: :)

Until exile360 returns, the "Add to Ignore List" option in the context menu of the system tray icon is grayed out until one visits the website to incur the block:

To access a site that is currently blocked that you wish to view, you may add it to the IP Ignore list as described below:

Navigate to the page and await the alert. Once the alert appears, right-click the Malwarebytes system tray icon(near clock) and select an IP or all IPs listed and they will now be added to the ignore option and listed in the 'Ignore' tab. You may need to refresh the page to access the site.

How do I unblock a site which Malwarebytes Anti-Malware blocks?

Let us know if this resolves your issue.

If it doesn't, please wait for exile360 or someone else to return to assist you.

(They'll probably need you to run a scanning tool to get a look at your MBAM installation to try to determine the cause).

HTH,
