Funmoods malware removal

My friend has had funmoods loaded onto his computer. It affected IE, chrome and mozilla. After 2 days of trying everything we could think of we have stopped it showing on IE and Chrome. Its probably still there .... We have done about 1000 google searches to no avail.

We used "everything" and found some files called funmoods which we deleted. They had not shown up when we did a windows explorer search. It did not help as mozzila was still infected.

Then we ran Malwarebytes scan. It found more files, but only in the windows restore directory.

We told it to remove them. Mozilla still infected.

We have un-installed and re-installed mozzila 3 times, and finally tried to do system retore to a point before the infection. Window will not restore saying the restore files invalid.

1. Did we break the restore by telling Malware to remove the funmoods files?

2. How can we find the funmoods malware and remove it from this computer?
