Microsoft Security Essentials 4.0 and MBAM Pro

Uhh i just recently upgraded to the MSE 4.0 final version and wanted to know if MSE and MBAM pro will still run alongside each other with out any conflict. i have noticed i now can not enable website blocking after upgrading MSE.

Yes, they should work perfectly fine together in realtime. I'm running them both on my system as I type this and website blocking in Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is still fully functional.

I'd recommend first trying a reboot to see if that corrects the issue, and if it does not, then verify that you have website blocking set to start when the protection module starts in the Protection tab of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.

If that does not resolve the problem, then please contact Consumer Support and they will assist you further.

im running both with out a problem try following the steps for mse in this link

and if that doesnt work run

malwarebytes.org/mbam-clean.exe

and reinstall mbam (please note running the clean tool will completely delete mbam from your computer and will require you to reenter your product key and id)

Thanks for the reply, i have already done the steps above. But i still can not get it to turn on. I right click on the tray icon and select website protection but it wont check it or turn it on. I have also noticed my cpu usage is staying at 100% for extended periods of time.

OK, I assume you are on either Windows Vista or Windows 7, correct?

If so, that's quite normal. Whenever a database update for Malwarebytes Anti-Malware occurs, the website blocking component will temporarily be disabled while it refreshes the database and you'll find that if you check Task Manager, that a svchost.exe process is eating up a lot of CPU.

Once that high CPU usage subsides, the website blocking in Malwarebytes Anti-Malware should automatically enable itself again. Whenever this happens, you should see something like this in your protection log:

OK. It appears that you may have clicked on Website Blocking in the tray menu several times trying to enable this after the database was updated while it was refreshing. That can cause it to turn the website blocking off, but after the CPU usage settles down, you should be able to re-enable it again.
