AVG Anti-Virus and Anti-Malwarebytes

Hi guys.

Just wanted to ask..

I have AVG Internet Security 2012 (fully paid version) as my anti-virus software. It seems to be doing its job as far as I know. But I got hit with the searchnu.com/406 malware which Maniac helped to get rid of. This was partly my fault for downloading iLivid Player.

What I'd like to know is, is AVG capable of protecting me against Malware? Or would I benefit from your software?

I have the free version by the way. But thinking of upgrading to the paid version pending comments

AVG is capable of protecting you but I would recommend you buy Malwarebytes just incase if something slips by AVG that and It would help you keep MBAM up-to-date.

Most folks here will tell you that you need layered security. Your antivirus software alone is not enough. AVG Free together with Malwarebytes PRO (for active protection) will help you keep your computer clean. Of course no one product is 100% and something may sneak by especially if you do not heed the warnings that your security software may give you.
