Blue screen and redirect

Recommended Posts

I recently downloaded Internet Explorer verson 9 and shortly afterward my computer started getting a blue screen when I accessed the internet. I started using Firefox, but it doesn't help, plus it downloads a bunch of extraneous screens whenever I click on a link. I can get on facebook pretty consistenly with minimal problems, but accessing my email account on aol and other functions get the blue screen almost immediately. I'm on a different computer because I can't access this website on the infected computer.

The infected computer runs on Vista, and I've had a problem running antimalwarebytes in the past (something about the administrator), plus when I run Hijack This it gives instructions for "running as administrator" but that option doesn't come up when I right click, so I'm not sure if it's a full scan.

As a side note I've had a problem with a google redirect virus for some time, but I've just sidestepped it by typing in the links manually. Any tips for getting rid of that will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Terry

Next.......

Please remove any usb or external drives from the computer before you run this scan!

Please download and run RogueKiller.

For Windows XP, double-click to start.

For Vista or Windows 7, do a right-click on the program, select Run as Administrator to start, & when prompted Allow to run.

Click Scan to scan the system (don't run any other options)

Post back the report.
