NikkiB Posted April 16, 2012 ID:543234 Share Posted April 16, 2012 I downloaded a game from Gamehouse and ever since my pc has been playing up. It starts up fine, but then grinds to a halt and nothing works. I've tried scanning it but it wouldn't let the scans finish, I tried to do a system restore but it wont let me.I started it up today in safe mode with networking and did a full scan with malwarebytes but is said nothing found. I tried updating it, but I get PROGRAM_ERROR_UPDATING(11004, 0, No address found). The pc constantly stops being connected to the router as well and is connecting somewhere else. I keep getting conflicting IP addresses too, but I don't know if that means anything. Help?? I am a complete computer dunce!!Nikki
Firefox Posted April 16, 2012 ID:543235 Share Posted April 16, 2012 Hello and welcome to MalwarebytesNot sure where you downloaded the game from or if it came bundled with other tools and or programs. It is quite possible that your may have some malware. Also you just might need to reinstall Malwarebytes. Lets start with reinstalling Malwarebytes, updating it and running a quick scan. Let us know how it goes....Please do the following: Download and run mbam-clean.exe from here It will ask to restart your computer, please allow it to do so very important After the computer restarts, temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent via email if using the Pro version Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates. Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray if using the Pro version. Now setup any file exclusions as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications. You may use the guides posted in the FAQ's here or ask and we'll explain how to do it. If the steps above did not work for you let me know and I have other things we need to try. NikkiB Posted April 16, 2012 Author ID:543270 Share Posted April 16, 2012 Hi, and thanks.I uninstalled and restarted, but when I did it said there was still a download in progress. I had to manually turn off the pc. I installed from your link, but it said it already existed an did I want to continue anyway, which I did. Now it's just not responding and I got this message:PROGRAM_ERROR_UPDATING D(0, 0, Timeout)It's also freezing all the time.Nikki
Firefox Posted April 16, 2012 ID:543282 Share Posted April 16, 2012 Is the computer freezing all the time or only when you try to install Malwarebytes? Did the mbam-clean work correctly? Try running the mbam-clean.exe once again.
NikkiB Posted April 17, 2012 Author ID:543489 Share Posted April 17, 2012 Hi,I've tried repeating the removal and it asked to restart the computer and I said yes. Hours ago, it said it was installing 1 of 2 upadates, but nothing's happening? It started freezing after I downloaded the game and has been stopping and starting ever since. Every time I try to do anything, especially with Malwarebytes, task manager keeps saying responding, then not responding over and over.Nikki
