Trojan.FakeAlert and pum.hijack.startmenu infected

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Yesterday, I was infected by Trojan.FakeAlert and pum.hijack.startmenu viruses. I turned my computer off and started in safe mode and ran Malwarebytes quick scan. Scan deleted the above mentioned viruses, but all my files on computer and portable hard disk got deleted. Also, Start up menu icons and items, desktop icons and Internet Explorer favorites and history files were deleted. How do I get all this files and icons back. I even tried to restore, but that seem not to work. Please help!
