I can"t connect to the internet

Merged post

Hi,

I recently physically removed my modem from my system, but since I reconnected it I have been unable to connect to the internet. I have been getting the limited or no connectivity message ever since. I am no techi,e but I have had several persons check it and they have all failed to identify the problem. I, and others, have tried the command prompt fix but that has failed also. One person said it may be a virus and so I have been trying mbam to try to rectify the problem because i really don't want to reinstall the OS if I can avoid it. the problem is that i have not been able to update mbam. I have followed the different instructions on how to manually update mbam. I have copied the rules file from an updated version on another computer and i have transferred the manual installer to the infected machine and have run it, however both methods have caused mbam to report that a file is missing or corrupted so i have been unable to update it.

Incidentally, and I don't know if this means anything, I had burned the manual update file onto a CD in order to transfer to the problem machine but could not see it on the CD until I was running in safe mode. Could that have been caused by whatever virus has infected the machine?

So, can you guys point me in the right direction of a fix for my computer? I am running XP SP3.I have attached the dds log files.

thanx in advance.

Any experts out there to help me? I posted on 3/24/12 and have not got a reply as yet. HELP!!!!!!!!

Hi and welcome to Malwarebytes.

In the future, please post all logs directly into your reply instead of attaching them unless otherwise indicated. With that said, please update MBAM, run a Quick Scan, and post its log.

Next, run DDS again and post DDS.txt directly in your reply.
