Everything cleaned up but 4 registry browser settings

Recommended Posts

I've been doing virus/spyware removal for a long time, but this one's got me. I have got everything cleaned up and AVG anti-virus now scans clean. Malwarebytes has 4 registry settings that it cannot remove. I have tried manually removing them and the permissions will not allow it. I have run subinacl to reset the permissions on the registry, but no dice.

Here are the Hijack This and Malwarebytes logs.

Malwarebytes has that these files will be deleted on reboot, but they never are. I have highlighted in red the offending lines. I've googled, and can't find anywhere these have been successfully removed.

Thanks!

Please download this, place a blank CD in your burner and double-click on the downloaded file. It will automatically burn the CD for you.

At the bottom left should be 2 flags. If you use your mouse and click on the British flag the interface should switch to English for you.

Have it scan ALL files. There is no way that I'm aware of to save a log, so you may need to write down any special errors or infections found and their outcome.

Requires access to a working computer with a CD/DVD burner to create a bootable CD.

    Avira AntiVir Rescue System
Avira AntiVir Rescue System is a Linux-based application that allows accessing computers that cannot be booted anymore. Thus it is possible to:

  • repair a damaged system,
  • rescue data,

  • scan the system for virus infections.

Just double-click on the rescue system package to burn it to a CD/DVD. You can then use this CD/DVD to boot your computer.
The Avira AntiVir Rescue System is updated several times a day so that the most recent security updates are always available.

Thanks! I had to run it a few times to clear up the 6 alerts and 200+ warnings. (Most were in either Spybot's recovery folder), but one was a file that no othe program caught. Avira renamed the file, so I could delete it. Rescaned with Malwarebytes, and it's gone. Was finally able to delete one item from HiJack This too.

It's always good to know of another tool in this war. :D

If you read what I posted before. The Avira Rescue CD Renamed the one trojan that was causing the problem. I was able to delete the trojan and then, Malwarebytes ran CLEAN. There was nothing left to clean. I ran HiJack this and the one item that would not remove before removed. The computer is clean & done.
